Aged Couple Burned When Home Is Destroyed

Special to The Inquirer.

ALLENTOWN, Pa., Sept. 13.---Early this morning a bomb was thrown into the home of Henry Smith, a farmer of near Emaus, the explosion being followed by a fire which had spread nearly the entire lower floor before the aged couple were able to come down stairs. Smith carried his wife through the flames to safety, though both were seriously burned.

There is no clue to the bomb throwers as the Smiths do not have any known enemies. The building was destroyed, the aged couple losing all their clothing and household effects and a sum of money.
