Latrobe, PA Three Car Wreck Kills Four, Aug 1956

FOUR MEET DEATH IN THREE-CAR PILE-UP IN WESTMORELAND COUNTY.

Latrobe (AP) - Four Westmoreland County residents, including a 33-year-old mother and her two children, were killed late yesterday afternoon in a three-car pile-up on Route 981 about four miles south of here.
The victims were MRS. PAUL SNIDER, of RD 2, Greensburg; her children, PAUL SNIDER, JR., 8; and PAMELA, 6; and GLENN W. WRIGHT, 43, of Pleasant Unity.
MRS. SNIDER was en route to Latrobe where she and her children planned to visit Mrs. Snider's mother, Mrs. Dollie Sharretts.
State police said the crash occurred on a straight stretch of the two-lane highway. They said that MRS. SNIDER apparently lost control of her auto. WRIGHT'S car plowed broadside into the machine.
A third auto, driven by Robert M. Lewis, 30, of RD 2, Mt. Pleasant, crashed into the rear of WRIGHT'S car but Lewis was not hurt.
