Camden, TN Van And Truck Crash, Jul 1991

Camden, Tenn. (AP) - A dump truck hit a car and rolled over on a church van Friday, fatally crushing six people in the van and injuring nine other people, officials said.
The van driver emerged unscathed, and six others in the van were taken to hospitals with unspecified injuries, said Rick Gallimore of the Benton County Rescue Squad.
Three occupants of the car also were taken to hospitals, Gallimore said. The dump truck driver was not injured.
The car and dump truck were traveling north and the van was going south on state Route 641, about 90 miles west of Nashville, when the dump truck hit the car from the rear.
"Somehow the dump truck did approach the van from the side, probably driving it off the road," Gallimore said. "The van rolled over with the dump truck falling to rest on the back third of the van."
The van was from Longview, Texas. Gallimore said he did not know the name of the church.
